Within a couple of days for most of the year. During the six weeks of harvest, considerably slower — everyone who would answer the phone is out picking. If it is urgent and it is July, phone rather than email.

Restaurants, greengrocers and market traders: get in touch in spring. The crop is allocated before picking starts, and by the time the first fruit is ready there is usually nothing uncommitted left.
